How you change your plan depends on what you're changing. Most changes are an edit to your existing plan. Only one case needs a cancellation.
Which path applies to you
Changing settings within your current proxy type — exclusivity, proxy number, bandwidth, locations, replacements, sub-users or features: edit your plan.
Switching proxy exclusivity (subtype), for example Datacenter Shared to Datacenter Private: also an edit, no cancellation needed. Your proxies are replaced with a new list, because each subtype uses a separate pool.
Switching proxy type, for example Proxy Server to Residential: add a plan. Both run under a single renewal date — see How do Multiple Plans Work? Cancel the old plan first only if you don't want to keep it.
How to edit your plan
Go to Plans & Pricing and select Edit plan.
Your proxy type is already set. Adjust your exclusivity, proxy number, bandwidth, locations, replacements, sub-users and features, then complete checkout.
Editing replaces your current plan automatically — you don't need to cancel separately, and your unused time and bandwidth are converted into credits and applied to the cost. For the full walkthrough with screenshots, see Editing Your Plan.
Editing a yearly plan? Your selections carry over, except Pay Yearly, which resets. Select it again before checkout — otherwise your plan switches to monthly straight away and you're charged one month instead of the year. Check the total before you confirm.
What changes when you edit
Every edit resets your billing cycle and bandwidth usage, whatever you change. Your next renewal is 30 days from the edit (360 days on yearly plans). See Subscription Periods: Monthly vs Yearly.
What happens to your proxy list depends on what you change:
Proxy number — enter the final total, not the amount you're adding: 100 proxies plus 100 more means entering 200. Increasing keeps your existing proxies and adds new ones; decreasing removes proxies to match the total; leaving it unchanged keeps exactly the same proxies, unless you change your locations.
Proxy locations — new proxies aren't spread across your countries automatically. Enter the exact number you want from each country, or they'll be assigned at random. Where a country's number stays the same or goes up, you keep your proxies there and receive additional ones; where it goes down, proxies from that country are removed. Example: you have 10 US and 10 UK, and move to 15 US and 15 UK — you keep all 20 and gain 5 more of each.
Bandwidth — your limit is replaced and your usage resets, whether you increase or decrease it. It isn't a top-up: going from 250 GB to 1000 GB gives you 1000 GB, not 1250 GB. Your proxy list isn't affected.
Replacements — a separate add-on, recurring or manual. Adding or changing it doesn't alter your list at the time of the edit, though recurring replacements change it over time by design.
Features — High Concurrency, Priority Network, Unlimited IP Authorizations, sub-users and High IP Reputation don't change your list when you add them. High IP Reputation combined with an auto-replace rule can swap proxies out later. Removing a feature doesn't revert proxies that were already swapped.
Choosing which proxies are removed: your allocation numbers control this. Set a country to zero to drop it entirely, or lower its number to remove some. You can't pick specific IPs — to remove particular ones, first replace them with proxies from a country you don't currently use (see Manual Proxy Replacement), then set that country to zero when you downgrade.
What happens to your credits
Your credit is based on whichever you have less of remaining — time or bandwidth. The two aren't added together, so if your bandwidth is used up, your credit is near zero even with time left on the cycle. Check both on My Plan before you make a change. Credits are applied automatically at checkout, and you pay any difference with your usual payment method. See Account Credits for how the amount is calculated.
When you do need to cancel
Cancel only when you're moving to a different proxy type and don't want to keep both plans running. Cancellation takes effect immediately, moves you to the Free Plan, and converts the unused portion into credits for the new plan — see How to Cancel Your Subscription Plan. To keep your proxies until the end of your billing cycle, turn off auto-renewal instead.
