Changing Your Proxies

Updated this week

We provide multiple options to replace or refresh your proxies. Each option offers its own benefits, and depending on your use case, you can choose from the following:

  • Using Manual Replacements

  • Enabling the Auto-Replace feature

  • Using Reccuring Replacements

  • Adding the Auto-Refresh option to your plan

  • Changing your plan in the Plans & Pricing section

Manual Replacements

Manual Replacements allow you to remove and replace specific proxies in your list without affecting the rest. They are especially useful for users who need to make precise adjustments without affecting the whole set, or for those who want to maintain control over which IP addresses are changed and when.

We recommend using Manual Replacements when a proxy becomes blocked by your target website, you wish to receive proxies from a different IP range or ASN, or you want to change the country of your proxies.

Proxy Replacement Options

When replacing proxies, you can target specific IPs by entering the exact addresses you want to remove. Alternatively, you can make replacements using broader criteria such as ASN, IP range, or country. For the new proxies, you can also choose to receive them from a specific ASN, IP range, or country, or simply opt for randomly assigned IPs.

Availability and Use

Each paid plan includes 10 complimentary Manual Replacements per month. If you need more, additional replacements can be purchased directly from the Plans & Pricing section of your account.

Check out 'Manual Proxy Replacement' to learn more about how Individual Replacements work.

Auto-Replace Settings

Auto-Replace is a free, built-in feature available to all users on paid plans. When enabled, it automatically replaces proxies that are not working, are experiencing a slowdown, or return incorrect geolocation data.

Auto-Replace Options

When enabling the Auto-Replace feature for your proxy list, you’ll have several options to choose from:

  • 'Proxy is not available for more than 15 minutes' - enabling this option replaces any proxies that have the 'Not Working' status for more than 15 minutes.

  • 'Proxy has Low Country Confidence' - replaces any proxies on your list that may be appearing as a different country on external websites.

  • 'Proxy may be experiencing a temporary slowdown' - replaces proxies that may have decreased speed due to overloaded servers.

Availability and Use

The Auto-Replace feature is completely free, meaning it does not use your Individual Replacement balance.

If you want to have static proxies, you can enable Auto-Replace temporarily, wait for the proxies to be replaced, and then disable it once you're set.

For further information regarding the Auto-Replace feature, feel free to read this article: 'Understanding the Auto-Replace Feature'.

Recurring Replacements

The Recurring Replacement feature—sometimes referred to as a rotating proxy plan—is an optional add-on that automatically refreshes your proxy list at a set frequency.

By constantly rotating your proxy list and providing you with fresh IPs, the feature helps maintain anonymity, prevent disruptions caused by blocked addresses and, therefore, ensure consistent proxy performance.

Availability and Use

When you repeatedly send requests to the same website using the same IPs, especially with a small proxy pool, websites can quickly flag and block those IPs. With Recurring Replacements enabled, your proxy list is refreshed at your chosen frequency, replacing IPs before they have a chance to be blocked.

With this feature, you can set up your plan so that your proxies are refreshed at a set interval, ranging from every 5 minutes to once per month, depending on your preferences.

To learn more about how to set up the Auto-Refresh feature, refer to this article: 'Setting Up Rotating Proxies with Reccuring Replacemnts'.

Editing the Subscription

If you want to change the subtype of your proxies (for example, switching from Shared to Private, or from Private to Dedicated), you can do this by editing your subscription directly through the Plans & Pricing page. Simply click 'Edit' next to your current plan to make the change.

If you want to switch your proxy type entirely (for example, moving from a Proxy Server plan to a Static Residential plan), you’ll need to cancel your current subscription and purchase a new one through the Plans & Pricing page.

Changing your plan is also useful for adjusting your proxy allocation. For instance, if you need to change the country for all your proxies and don’t have enough individual replacements available, you can do it all at once by editing your subscription.

Availability and Use

You can edit your plan at any point during your subscription term. If you make changes in the middle of your subscription term, don’t worry, any unused time or bandwidth from your current plan will be credited. These credits will then be automatically applied to help cover the cost of your new plan.

If you want to learn more about changing your plan, see 'Changing or Upgrading Your Plan'.
