Auto-Replace is a free feature available to all users on paid plans. This feature automatically detects and replaces proxies that are non-working, return incorrect geolocation data, or are temporarily experiencing a slowdown. It helps you maintain a high-performing proxy list without manually monitoring or replacing individual proxies.
When Should You Enable Auto-Replace?
Proxy is not working: If at least one of your proxies shows a “Not Working” status for more than 15 minutes, enabling this option will automatically replace it with a new one.
Proxy has Low Country Confidence: If a website displays a different country than the one on your dashboard, enabling this feature will ensure that low-confidence IPs are automatically replaced with high-confidence ones (if not enabled, your list will include a mix of both). Keep in mind that this may decrease the number of available proxies.
Proxies are slow: If your proxies are working but seem slower than usual, enabling this option will automatically replace the proxies that are experiencing a temporary slowdown with faster-performing IPs.
The Auto-Replace feature is completely free and doesn’t use your Individual Replacement balance.
How to Enable Auto-Replace
Go to the 'Settings' page on your account.
Navigate to the 'Replace Proxies' tab.
You’ll see a table listing the auto-replace conditions. Select the checkboxes next to the conditions that apply to your situation (e.g., Not Working, Low Country Confidence, or Temporary Slowdown).
Click 'Save Changes' to activate your selected auto-replace options.
Once enabled, the system will monitor and replace affected proxies automatically. You can disable or modify these settings at any time.
You can view any proxies that have been automatically replaced by going to the 'Replaced' tab above your proxy list. Automatically replaced proxies in this section will appear as follows:
Replaced due to 'Not Working' reason will show as 'Proxy was not available'.
Replaced due to a temporary slowdown will appear as 'Low performance'.
Replaced due to low country confidence will show as 'Low country confidence'.
If you prefer to have static proxies, you can enable Auto-Replace temporarily, wait for the proxies to be updated, and then disable it once you're satisfied with the new set.
Please keep in mind that once a proxy is replaced, it cannot be restored!
How to Avoid Connection Interruptions
While the Auto-Replace feature helps ensure your proxy list stays optimised by automatically replacing underperforming proxies, it can sometimes lead to connectivity issues if your setup doesn’t account for these changes.
One common issue users may encounter is the no_proxies_allocated
error. This typically happens when you are trying to connect to proxies that were replaced and are no longer part of your active list.
How to Avoid This Issue
Keep your proxy list updated: If you're managing proxies manually, regularly update your configurations with the latest proxy list.
Use Backbone Connection: To eliminate the need for manual updates, we recommend configuring your setup through Backbone Connection. With Backbone, your proxy credentials remain consistent, so you don't need to change anything even when proxies are replaced in the background.
