What kinds of network restrictions can I experience?
The most common network restrictions we notice some users encounter are our hostname being blocked or certain proxy connection ports being blocked.
If you are unsure which specific kind of connection restriction you have, attempting solutions for both can help. More detailed explanations and steps are listed below.
How to deal with p.webshare.io being blocked?
By default, our Backbone and Rotating Proxy Endpoint methods use our p.webshare.io hostname to connect to our proxies. However, this hostname can sometimes be blocked by your network (ISP, VPS restrictions) or by countries with restricted internet access (China, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Etc), or by proxy applications that require connecting via IP address.
In those situations where we offer our Converted IP Address, which provides an IP instead of p.webshare.io . The same Converted IP addresses work for both Backbone and Rotating Proxy Endpoint connection methods.
Important Note:
1) Your converted IP address is NOT the same as your endpoint Proxy IP.
2) The converted IP address you receive is based on your location, which helps with better performance and lower latency, but our support team will not be able to view the IP address you receive.
How to receive your Converted IP Address?
Head to your Proxy List, then press the "convert" button next to p.webshare.io. You will receive several different Converted IP Addresses, but you only need to include 1 of them in your setup for all of your proxies.
How to deal with proxy ports being blocked?
With our Direct Connection method, you'll notice that all your proxies use different connection ports. If you can't connect to only some of your proxies, it's likely that the port is blocked on your network.
As a workaround, you can use our Backbone Connection method, which uses the port 80 listed on your Proxy List, or the alternative ports:
1080;
3128;
Or any port between 9999 and 29999;
Tip: These alternative ports work with our Rotating Proxy Endpoint connection method as well
