Filtering Proxies by Country

Updated today

If you have proxies from multiple locations on your list and want to focus on a specific region, filtering by country makes management much easier.

Understanding Inventory and Stock Limitations

Webshare's proxy availability depends on inventory and stock levels. Certain countries may not be available in specific plans, such as the $6/month Static Residential plan. However, these locations may still be available in other plans, such as the Rotating Residential plan. Replacement proxies may sometimes come from a single country due to limited IP ranges or inventory constraints, even if multiple countries were selected.

This is especially useful if you're using a Rotating Residential plan, which provides access to proxies from all available locations—but you only intend to use a few selected ones. Filtering allows you to view and use only the proxies from the countries that matter most to your use case.

However, it is important to note that proxy availability depends on inventory and stock levels. Certain countries may not be available in specific plans, such as the $6/month Static Residential plan, but may still be accessible in other plans like the Rotating Residential plan.

How to Filter Proxies by Country

  1. Go to the Proxy List page on your Webshare account.

  2. Click on the 'Countries' option.

  3. Select the countries you wish to view from the list and click 'Save Changes.' The page will refresh to show only proxies from the selected country.

  • After saving changes, click the download button, press the refresh button and download the file to export a file containing proxies only from the selected country.

FAQs on Proxy Allocation and Replacement

Where can I find the list of countries and the number of proxies available for each?

You can view the list of countries and the number of proxies available for each in the Rotating Residential plan section of the "Plans & Pricing" page. Click the "Listed countries" button to access this information.

Why are my replacement proxies from the same country despite selecting multiple countries?

This occurs due to inventory limitations or subnet constraints. Even if multiple countries are selected, the allocation may be concentrated in one location depending on the available IP ranges and provider subnets.

Once your proxies are filtered, if you’re viewing your list through the Backbone Connection, the usernames of the proxies will include the country code of the selected location.

For example: ******-ca-1 (here, 'ca' indicates that the proxy is from Canada).
