IP Authorization

Updated over a week ago

IP authorization is a simple and efficient way to authenticate your proxies without usernames or passwords. Instead, access is granted based on your device’s IP address, making it a hassle-free and secure option.

Key Benefits:

  • No Credentials Needed - Authenticate directly using your IP

  • Wide Compatibility - Works seamlessly with most software and applications.

  • Multi-Account Support - Authorize the same IP across multiple accounts for added convenience.

  • Dual Functionality - Can be used alongside traditional proxy credentials for extra flexibility.

How Does It Work?

Setting up IP authorization is quick and straightforward. Here is how you can set it up:

  1. Navigate to the Proxy Settings page in your account.

  2. Go to the IP Authorizations section and click Add New IP Address.

  3. Enter your IP address and click Save.

Once saved, your proxies can be accessed using only the Proxy Address and Port—no credentials required.

Tip: To make the setup easier, your current IP address is automatically displayed above the IP Authorizations list. Simply copy and paste it to add it quickly.

Authorization Limits

You can authorize an IP address on only one account at a time. If you authorize the same IP address on another account, the system will automatically move the IP to the new account. It will no longer be authorized on the previous one.

Similarly, an IP address can be authorized on only one plan within your account.
For example, if you have both a Datacenter and a Static Residential plan, the same IP can only be used to authenticate proxies from one of these plans.

When using the Residential plan with IP Authorization, you can only connect to proxies on ports up to 29,999.

Need to Authorize Multiple IPs?

By default, all plans allow one authorized IP address per account. If you need more, we’ve got you covered!

  • Upgrade your plan with the Unlimited IP Authorizations feature to authorize as many IP addresses as you need.

  • Visit the Pans & Pricing page to explore options and unlock unlimited IP flexibility.

Troubleshooting IP Authorization

If you experience issues with IP authorization, please follow these steps:

  1. Check if your IP Address is authorised correctly:

    • Visit https://ipv4.webshare.io/ to see your current IP.

    • Ensure that this IP is the same one saved on your account and correctly authorized.

  2. Make sure the proxy you are connecting to is still on your Proxy List.

  3. If the steps above don’t resolve the issue, remove and re-add your IP in the IP

  4. Authorizations section.
