Fair Usage Policy

Updated over a week ago

To maintain service quality and ensure a seamless experience for all users, Webshare applies a Fair Usage Policy to our Proxy Server, Static Residential, and Verified proxies (legacy). This policy helps prevent network congestion and maintains optimal service levels for everyone.

Why Fair Usage Matters

While we offer unlimited bandwidth, fair usage helps us ensure that all users receive reliable and consistent performance. Excessive bandwidth usage by some users can negatively affect network quality, resulting in slower speeds and potential disruptions for others. Our policy regulates unusually high traffic to prevent this.

Fair Usage Bandwidth Threshold Calculation

All of our Unlimited Bandwidth plans include a guaranteed minimum threshold of 10 GB. However, additional bandwidth guarantees depend on the subscription price—higher-priced plans automatically receive higher bandwidth limits.

Below is the formula we use to calculate the guaranteed bandwidth threshold:

Example: A $100 subscription plan provides a guaranteed monthly bandwidth of 10 TB (calculated as Plan Price ÷ 10).

If a user significantly exceeds their guaranteed bandwidth threshold, their bandwidth may be temporarily throttled. Our proxies operate at full speeds of 300–400 Mbps, but once throttling is applied, speeds may initially drop to around 100 Mbps and can gradually decrease to as low as 5 Mbps, depending on continued usage.

Increasing Bandwidth Limits

Users can increase their bandwidth limits by upgrading their plan. For further assistance, please contact our support team at [email protected].

Important Considerations

  • The Fair Usage Policy applies to all customers, both new and existing, with active subscriptions.

  • Webshare reserves the right to unilaterally modify this Fair Usage Policy and its bandwidth speed limits without prior notice.

  • The Fair Usage Policy is subject to change based on network conditions, service optimizations, and customer usage patterns.
