Before you start: you'll need Claude Code installed and signed in. See the Claude Code setup guide.
1. Open the MCP Server page
In your Webshare dashboard, go to Integrations → MCP Server and select the Claude Code tab.
2. Add Webshare to Claude Code
Run this command in your terminal, not inside Claude Code. If Claude Code is open, type /exit first:
claude mcp add --transport http webshare https://mcp.webshare.io/
By default, Claude Code saves the connection for the folder you ran the command in. To use Webshare from any folder, add --scope user:
claude mcp add --scope user --transport http webshare https://mcp.webshare.io/
If Claude Code was already running, restart it so it picks up the new server.
3. Authenticate
Start Claude Code, run /mcp, select webshare, and choose Authenticate.
webshare is listed under Local MCPs and shows 'needs authentication' until you complete this step. Afterward, it shows a tick and the number of tools.
4. Allow access
Your browser opens Webshare. Log in if asked, then check that the app name is Claude Code.
The Allow Access screen lists the permissions in two groups:
Read (lets the assistant view)
Proxies: list, configuration, statistics and replacements
Account: profile, subscription, notifications and verifications
Billing: amounts, payments and payment methods
Catalogue: products and pricing
Referrals: coupon codes, credits and earnings
Sub-users: list and settings
Write (lets the assistant make changes)
Proxies: refresh the list, replace proxies and change IP authorizations
Account: profile, preferences, notifications and verification answers
Billing: billing details, renewal and payment methods
Referrals: referral settings and coupon codes
Sub-users: create, change, delete and refresh their proxies
Proxies, Account, Billing and Catalogue under Read are ticked for you. Everything else is unticked, including all Write permissions, so select only what you want Claude Code to do.
Click Allow Access.
Only the account owner can connect apps. If you're logged in as a sub-user, use Switch Account to log in as the owner.
Claude Code now shows webshare as connected.
5. Test the connection
Ask Claude Code one of these:
"List my Webshare proxies grouped by country."
"Find proxies that failed more than 5% in the last 24 hours and suggest replacements."
"What's my projected bandwidth usage this month compared to my current plan?"
Manage access
Claude Code now appears under Integrations → Connected Apps. You can disconnect it there at any time, and doing so cuts off access right away. To change its permissions later, disconnect it and connect it again.
