Direct Connection, Rotating Proxy, or Backbone Connection
Webshare offers 3 different connection methods: Direct, Rotating, and Backbone.
We recommend using Direct if you purchased proxies without auto-refresh and Rotating or Backbone for those who enabled auto-refresh.
Direct
This is recommended if your proxy list does not change by refreshes or replacements. Direct Connection lets you connect to different proxy addresses by using the same username and password. This is the most affordable and high speed connection that works for most use cases.
Rotating
A rotating proxy is a server that assigns a new IP address from your proxy list every time a request is made. Proxies are automatically shuffled so that you don’t have to do so manually. This way your activities with proxies are harder to be detected by the target website.
Pro:
- Save time
- Increased anonymity
Con:
- 0-100 milliseconds slower than Direct
You can configure rotating proxy by following the steps below:
- Navigate to Rotating Proxy Endpoint page.
-
Inside the Rotating Proxy Endpoint panel, grab the Proxy Address, Port, Username and Password.
Backbone
Similar to Rotating Proxy, Backbone is recommended when your proxy list refreshes. The difference is that Backbone always uses the same IP address.
Pro:
- Save time
- Increased anonymity
Con:
- 0-100 milliseconds slower than Default
