Understanding High IP Reputation Score

How High IP Reputation screens proxies when they're assigned, what happens when you add it to an existing plan, and what to do if a score rises later.

High IP Reputation Score is a security metric that determines the trustworthiness of a user's connection. Expressed as a numerical rating from 0 to 100, this score assesses whether an IP address belongs to a legitimate user or is associated with high-risk activities such as bot traffic, fraud, or malicious intent.

How Does It Work?

Our system integrates with Scamalytics, a premier fraud-detection engine that analyzes IP addresses against a global database of known threats and connection types.

Key Detection Factors

  • ISP Reputation: Checks if the Internet Service Provider hosts high volumes of spam or bot traffic

  • Historical Abuse: Scans for previous reports of hacking, brute-force attacks, or fraudulent transactions associated with that IP

  • Geolocation: Flags discrepancies between reported and actual connection locations

When to Use High IP Reputation?

High IP Reputation Score proxies offer pristine usage history that withstands aggressive fraud checks, providing an additional layer of trust for mission-critical operations.

Best use cases

  • Web Scraping & Data Collection: Extract data from complex websites without CAPTCHAs or blocks that plague low-trust IPs

  • Social Media Management: Manage multiple accounts safely without triggering bans or phone verification challenges

  • Market Research & Price Intelligence: Access genuine competitor pricing without being blocked or presented with inaccurate data

What the Feature Does

High IP Reputation is applied when proxies are assigned to your plan. Every proxy is screened for a low fraud score before it reaches your list.

Once a proxy is on your list, if its score rises later, it can only be swapped out using the replacements in your plan.

You are buying a new plan

All proxies assigned to the plan are screened. Your list will be clean from the start. No further action is needed.

You are adding the feature to an existing plan

Your current proxies are screened when you add the feature. Any that don't meet the requirement are swapped for proxies with low fraud scores. These swaps don't use your replacements.

You are changing your proxy count

Proxies added when you increase your count are screened and will have clean scores. When you reduce your count, proxies are currently removed without regard to their fraud score, so the ones remaining may not be the cleanest. If you need specific proxies kept, contact support before downsizing.

Why Fraud Scores Change Over Time

A proxy that was clean when assigned can pick up a higher fraud score later. Reputation databases update continuously, and an IP's rating can change based on how the proxy is used, including on your plan.

High IP Reputation guarantees a low score at the moment a proxy is assigned. It doesn't monitor or replace proxies after that.

How to Add High IP Reputation to Your Plan

  1. Visit the Plans & Pricing page.

  2. Scroll down to the Unlock Pro Capabilities section.

  3. Check the High IP Reputation box to enable this feature for your plan.

  4. Review the pricing. The feature cost will be added to your monthly total.

  5. Proceed with checkout.

If a Proxy's Score Rises

Replace the proxy from your proxy list. Each swap uses one of your plan's replacements. See Manual Proxy Replacement for the steps.

If you've used up your replacements, you can add more by editing your plan on the Plans & Pricing page.

Verifying Fraud Scores

We recommend checking your proxy fraud scores on Scamalytics.com. Because the High IP Reputation feature is integrated with their database, Scamalytics reflects the same data our system uses when screening your proxies.

Why other checkers may show a different score

Other third-party services maintain their own independent databases, with their own scoring methods and update schedules. It is normal for them to disagree with each other for the same IP.

Our screening is based on Scamalytics, so a proxy that scores clean there meets the High IP Reputation requirement even if another checker shows a higher score. If a specific site you need to reach is rejecting your proxies, contact support with the site name and the response you are seeing. That is more useful to us than a checker score.
